The Meteorological Excuse..Too Too Funny!

Over my brief Thanksgiving holiday break, I came across the Little Giant Encylopedia of Outrageous Excuses. On a lighter note, I thought I'd share some of the humor....about excuses folks use to blame it it all on the weather, whether you're late in paying your bills, late for work or just plain forgetful. Please know that I'm only sharing this with you for comedic purposes...and I hereby discourage you from using these in real life. Remember, as the old saying goes, "Excuses are the Leaning Posts of Fools" Ha! Here goes:

1. "There's 6 feet of snow, and I'm digging out my car with a spatula."

2. "The Freezing Rain glued my car to the road."

3. "I have rainaphobia (or snowaphobia) and I can't leave until it stops."

4. "I dropped my keys in the snow, and I'm waiting for it to warm up so I can find them."

5. "There was a leak in the mailbox and all our bills floated away."

6. "It was so foggy, I missed the office building."

7. "There was a flash flood in my bathroom."

8 "With all this heat and humidity, the front door was swollen shut."

9. "I got caught in the Jet Stream."

10. "I've been depressed over Global Warming."

11. "There was a red sky this morning, and I'm sort of a sailor at heart."

12. "My car hydroplaned into McDonald's - I'm waiting for a tow truck and some fries."

Thanks for the smiles Mary Beth! Actually, number 14 about the lightning doesn't sound like anexcuse... sounds like something you should be wary of encountering!

You are correct, Bob. Lightning is nothing to fool with. Regarding, the comment about lightning and live shots, typically live shots are cancelled or the mast will be lowered on the live truck when lightning is present. You can all check out lightning and t-storm safety tips on www.wivb.com. Click on the weather tab, scroll down, then click on "When Severe Weather Threatens". You can then view the Severe Weather: Thunderstorms video, and it will give you some really helpful safety tips.

Here's another one: Sorry I've been in such a bad mood lately, my NAO is in a negative phase.

#4 actually happened to me...twice. The first time, my glasses fell out of my pocket while I was at a football game. The second time, the choke knob fell off my snowblower while I was using it. Never did find either one.
