This round of Lake Effect Snow

will again be elevation-driven. That is, if you live in Dunkirk or Ripley, you're not likely to see too much accumulation. But some of the higher ridges in Chau & western Catt Cos could see more than 6" by mid morning Friday, and another 2-4" in spots during the day. Only lighter snow shwrs or snow & rain shwrs are likely on the Niagara Frontier. The NW flow will bring in occasional lake snow streamers from Lake Huron, as well as Lake Erie. Bottom line: coverage, even in Chau & Catt Cos where a Lake Snow Warning is in effect, will be spotty and uneven.

Hello,

I am just curious why Mary Beth Wrobel does not ever remark on Canadian observations... I thought on October 8 when Toronto Pearson hit 90 degrees which was warmer than any other site in Western New York, she only talked about sites in the 80s. I believe it would be something worth mentioning as it was record breaking and very unprecedented for October. I know other WIVB meteorologists consider the Canadian viewing area…just was wondering if there was any particular reason..

Thanks

Paul

I have seen Mary Beth on many occasions mention Canadian observations. She may have just missed that one.

Hey, guys:
I don't think I missed that one. I just didn't mention it on every one of the shows that night. BTW, I created the Canadian temperature map that you see with all the provinces and territories. Believe me, I'm a big fan of our neighbors to the north! :-)
